Distributing beautifully packaged traditional Eid cookies (Maamoul) to bring the festive spirit to displaced families.
Volunteers delivered boxes to tent camps, pedestrians, and directly to injured children at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Creating fleeting but powerful moments of smiles and connection amidst the rubble and hardship.
As the holy month of Ramadan concluded in March 2026, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), with field implementation by Phoenix Co., launched the "Happy Eid" initiative. The goal was simple yet profound: to remind the people of Gaza that they are not forgotten during Eid al-Fitr.
A particularly touching phase of the distribution took place inside Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. Volunteers went room to room, offering the "Happy Eid" boxes to injured children and patients, successfully bringing much-needed smiles to their faces and a brief respite from their pain.
